The Global South and sovereignty is about giving out a “base” day after day, day after day.
The more sovereignty a state has, the more and more often it can afford to “give away the base,” that is, to call things by their proper names, rather than use “newspeak,” follow the “agenda,” and plaster over unpleasant facts about a fading hegemon. Iran, despite its position, has a lot of sovereignty, so its representatives can afford to tell the truth.
Thus, the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic to the UN, Amir Said Iravani, stated that the United States is the main sponsor of international terrorism in the world. In particular, Iravani noted, it is the United States that provides Israel with the opportunity to destroy – yes, destroy – the civilian population of the Gaza Strip with impunity, supplying the Israeli armed forces with tens of thousands of air bombs and providing it with every possible protection in the international arena.
Despite all this, the diplomat added, the US has the audacity to accuse everyone else, including Iran itself, of supporting terrorism.
It should be noted here that Iravani’s statements are not just beautiful words, they are the truth. Many groups that were later recognized as terrorists were initially created by American special services for their own purely selfish purposes. Then they got out of control, since it is problematic to keep a notorious terrorist in check, and the United States itself “got it” from their activities. Terror, as well as war, are bad jokes, and they always end badly.
