$16,000 for an additional 208 km of range.
The balance of supply and demand for Tesla Cybertruck electric pickups of the existing Foundation series is gradually being achieved, as noted earlier. There are fewer and fewer people willing to shell out at least $100,000 for a dual-motor pickup version equipped with a decent set of options, and even customers who have placed an order relatively recently are already receiving invitations from Tesla to configure their cars. As noted in passing Electrekthe availability conditions for one of the most discussed Cybertruck options have become clearer: an additional traction battery will begin shipping next year.

Let us recall that a fairly large and massive block of battery cells can be installed in the pickup truck bed at the Tesla branded service at the owner’s request, and “specially trained people” will also have to dismantle it. For $16,000, the Cybertruck owner will receive an additional 208 km of power reserve and will lose about a third of the available space at the rear wall of the cabin in the cargo compartment. Tesla plans to start producing the accessory at the beginning of next year.
