Director James Cameron has announced that he is working on a new project from the Terminator universe.
“I’m working on my Terminator movie right now. (…) It’s top secret. I don’t want to send a dangerous robot agent if you let it slip, even retroactively,” the director said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Netflix is set to release a new animated series, Terminator Zero, at the end of August. Cameron said the show “looks interesting” and makes him curious.
The director helmed the original 1984 Terminator and its sequel Judgment Day (1991). He also oversaw production of 2019’s Dark Fate.
Cameron is currently working on Avatar sequels. The third part, subtitled Fire and Ash, will be released before the end of 2025.
