What would the technology world be without Samsung? The South Korean company, founded in 1938, has been providing innovations for decades. In the last few years alone, Samsung has made foldable smartphones big and created what is probably the biggest competition to Apple’s iPad with the Galaxy Tab series. But Samsung is active in many other areas too.
Cars, insurance and smartphones: Samsung does (almost) everything
Did you know, for example, that Samsung also sells life insurance, builds cars with Renault and operates one of the largest Korean shipyards? But Samsung is best known and loved for consumer electronics. Samsung’s smartphones and tablets, as well as televisions and household appliances, are particularly popular in Germany. But Samsung does much more than that.
The company not only produces its own technology devices such as smartphones and tablets, but also produces many of the essential components for competitors’ devices. Without Samsung, there would be no iPhone, without Samsung, there would be no Google Pixel. The company produces screens, processors and RAM for smartphones, among other things. Now Samsung has introduced a world first.
World first: Performance boost for smartphones thanks to Samsung
As Samsung Electronics officially announced, it has started mass production of new types of RAM chips that are primarily designed for use in smartphones. According to Samsung, this is the thinnest RAM chip (with the LPDDR5 DRAM specification) in the world. The new memory promises great advantages for smartphones and tablets.
Not only 12 or 16 GB of RAM are possible in smartphones with the new chip. In the future, devices with the new Samsung chip will also be able to offer 24 and even up to 32 GB. For comparison: so far, no smartphone in the world has 32 GB of RAM; the maximum is currently 24 GB. But that is not the only advantage.

But it shouldn’t be long now.
