This Tuesday morning, Nacon and KT Racing launched the VIP beta for the racing game “Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown”. In addition, the graphics modes that will be available at launch on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S were confirmed.
After several postponements, Nacon and KT Racing announced at the end of May that the open-world racing game “Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown” will be released in September 2024.
In order to troubleshoot and get feedback from the community before the release, KT Racing also announced a beta. The closed VIP beta started this Tuesday morning. It will run until Sunday, August 18, 2024 at 10 a.m. our time. Anyone who has pre-ordered the Gold Edition of “Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown” will have access to the VIP beta.
The regular closed beta continues. This is available to those who pre-order the Gold Edition, the Silver Sharps Edition and the Silver Streets Edition from August 27, 2024 at 10 a.m. to August 30, 2024.
These graphics modes are waiting on the consoles
In the today’s announcement At the start of the VIP beta, the developers at KT Racing point out that the beta test is not representative of the final version of “Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown”. Instead, the beta is presented in a quality mode that is not yet final.
For stability reasons, the studio also uses a display of 30 frames per second in the beta.
However, two graphics modes will be available on the consoles when it launches next month. Firstly, there is the quality mode, which displays “Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown” on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S at 30 frames per second in 1440p resolution. Players who value 60 FPS in a racing game will also get their money’s worth.
There is also a performance mode with a display in 60 frames per second and 1080p.

In terms of gameplay, “Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown” follows on from its predecessors and offers an open world that we can travel and explore as we please. In the latest offshoot of the racing game series, our path leads us to Hong Kong Island, where we face numerous racing activities.
