Gamescom 2024 kicks off next week, and as always, it will be kicked off by Jeff Keeley’s keynote event. The host will host Opening Night Live and talk about games that many are eagerly awaiting, such as Monster Hunters Wilds, Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Geoff Keighley took to Twitter to share some information about what we can expect from the Gamescom opening event, writing: “Here are some of the games confirmed for Gamescom’s opening night event next Tuesday: Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Monster Hunter Wilds, Marvel Rivals, Dune Awakening, Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII.”
But the most interesting thing is the second tweet that Keeley posted as a response. It reads: “Yes, there will be announcements of new games.”
What games will these be? Well, that’s a whole other topic, and obviously we have little or no information at the moment. We know that THQ Nordic has already confirmed that a new game from Tarsier Studios (the creators of Little Nightmares) will be shown during ONL: does this count as a game that hasn’t been announced yet, or does it not count as it’s already been shown?
We also know that SEGA has a game planned for Gamescom that it hasn’t announced yet: it will also make it available to visitors to the show who will be in Cologne.
