Marvelous USA and XSEED Games Become Separate Labels Under Marvelous
Marvelous has announced an organizational change that will see each of its brands published as separate labels. Marvelous USA will publish Marvelous games, while XSEED Games will discover and publish third-party games.
Under the new structure, Marvelous USA will be responsible for Marvelous franchises such as Daemon X Machina, Farmagia, Rune Factory, and Story of Seasons, as well as providing business, operational, and marketing support for Marvelous’ western arcade game releases such as Naruto Emblem Battle.
Meanwhile, XSEED Games will be responsible for third-party games such as The Big Catch, Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion, Moonlight Peaks, Potionomics: Masterwork Edition, and Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana.
According to the press release, Marvelous will take a “more holistic view” of its representation in the West by presenting its owned franchises through a single global brand alongside Marvelous USA, while allowing XSEED Games to pursue discovery and release third-party games with more freedom and focus.
The changes will strengthen Marvelous as it moves forward with “a larger and more ambitious development scope and budget,” the western expansion of its arcade business, and upcoming milestone anniversaries for the Story of Seasons and Rune Factory franchises.
