The developers of Honkai: Star Rail have released their traditional gameplay video dedicated to the new character Jiaoqiu and what he can do in battle.
When using a Basic Attack, Skill, or Super Ability on an enemy, Jiaoqiu can inflict Burning Ash on the enemy, increasing damage taken. The amount of damage is based on the number of levels of Burning Ash. Enemies with Burning Ash also have the Burning status, and at the start of each turn, they take fire damage based on Jiaoqiu’s attack power.
When using the skill, Jiaoqiu throws a flaming anise and deals fire damage to the target enemy and nearby targets with a chance to inflict Burning Ash on the target enemy.
Jiaoqiu’s super ability places enemies in a scorching zone, increasing the number of stacks of Burning Ash on all enemies to the maximum of those present. Jiaoqiu then deals fire damage to all enemies. All enemies in the zone receive increased damage from super abilities, and may gain an additional stack of Burning Ash while active. The zone lasts a certain number of turns.
