The upcoming NBA 2K25 will feature a number of new features, including the MyGM mode and the playable era of superstar Steph Curry.
2K has announced further innovations for this year’s NBA 2K25 on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms. In MyNBA mode, you can look forward to the Steph era, which integrates the legacy of Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors into the basketball game; you can relive or rewrite their history. In addition, the MyGM mode, which puts you in the role of a general manager, is available for the first time on the new consoles.
As a general manager, you can completely control the fortunes of an NBA team for the first time on the new console generation. You choose your own GM background story to define your management style. You can start as an ex-player, a former scout, a financial genius or a closer; the roles determine your initial attributes and basic boosts.
A central part of the MyGM mode is the conversation with employees and players in order to meet all needs. The interactions have a significant influence on the development of your team. Background stories and attribute values provide various alternative dialogue options, so that you can unlock and try out various paths.
New to MyGM is the building: a freely accessible room in which you can take control of everything. There is also a new perk system that allows you to unlock additional skills. There are a total of 55 perks at launch, including “Winning Culture” and “Data Analyst”.
In the MyNBA mode, however, the Steph era is recreated – as mentioned. Here you can start your journey in 2016 and join Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors. The mode lets you relive the legendary run alongside Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Kevin Durant.
The MyNBA section also includes the Emirates NBA Cup, which features competitive group matches and knockout rounds. League expansions and reductions have been adjusted in the game and are intended to give you full control over how you shape your team and the league over time.
