In a surprise move, news has come that LEGO Horizon Adventures for Nintendo Switch will not be published directly by Sony or PlayStation: the publishing rights for this version have been acquired by Solutions 2 GO, a Canadian publisher and distributor with international operations.
LEGO Horizon Adventures is published by Sony Interactive Entertainment on PlayStation 5 and PC, while Solutions 2 GO will distribute the Nintendo Switch version. This way, Sony will not directly publish the game on Nintendo Switch, in a move similar to what happened with the MLB The Show series, developed by Sony San Diego Studio but published directly by MLB Entertainment on Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
LEGO Horizon Adventures still has no release date, the game is expected on PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch by the end of 2024, distributed in physical and digital format. Why is LEGO Horizon Adventures not coming out on PS4 or Xbox? Sony responded to this question with the following status:
“With LEGO Horizon Adventures we want to push the PlayStation 5 hardware to its limits. We have nothing to announce in terms of the game coming to Xbox or PS4 at this time.”
At this point we are waiting to find out the release date of the game.
