Asus published on the X social network, a teaser image of the new generation motherboards on the AMD X870E and X870 chipsets, designed for AM5 processors, including the Ryzen 9000 series. A full presentation of the boards is scheduled for August 20 – possibly at the Gamescom exhibition.
There are five motherboards in the picture. The one on the left has the TUF Gaming branding; the one in the center has the enthusiast-oriented Crosshair HERO branding; the one on the right could be from the ROG Strix series; the one on top could be from the budget Prime series; and the design on the bottom indicates that it belongs to the ProArt series. These five series have been around for several generations in Asus’ portfolio, and with the arrival of the X870E and X870 chipsets, they will be getting new CPU-optimized features.
In July, the company announced two motherboards based on the X870E chipset — the TUF and ROG Maximus series models received the Heavy Load Dynamic CO Stabilizer and All Core Safe CO Svalue to Switch to functions. The first allows switching from OC mode to PBO under high load; the second switches voltage curves via Curve Optimizer under high load.
Asus motherboards based on the X870 and X870E chipsets for AM5 chipsets will help to fully unleash the potential of AMD Ryzen 9000 processors compared to the X670 and X670E chipsets. For now, the new generation processors have to be installed on X670/X670E and B650/B650E boards, but the X870/X870E is already on the way – the new generation boards from AMD partners are expected to go on sale in September. Earlier at Computex 2024, ASRock presented a range of X870 and X870E motherboards, and MSI followed soon after. No manufacturer has announced prices yet, but the new AMD processors have already gone on sale, so you won’t have to wait long.
