What’s the status of the planned live action series of “Pokémon” on Netflix? After a long period of silence, there is finally a sign of life again.
More than three years ago there were first reportsaccording to which a new “Pokémon” series is allegedly in production under the banner of the streaming service Netflix. However, things have been extremely quiet around the ambitious project since then. Many fans were already worried that it might even have been put on ice. But that doesn’t seem to be the case.
What is known about the Netflix series “Pokémon” so far?
The first reports about the series were published three years ago. But not many details have been added over time. So far, all that is certain is that it will be a live action project – in the style of the film “Detective Pikachu”This had already impressively proven that a mixture of real actors and CGI Pokémon was well received by fans. A turnover of 450 million dollars at the box office speaks volumes.
It is also known that Joe Henderson is on board as executive producer and scriptwriter. He has already proven several times that he knows the TV business well. Among other things, he worked on the also very successful series “Lucifer”. Previous reports also indicate that the character Red will be the focus of the planned “Pokémon” series, the model for the popular Ash Ketchum. Now there is finally a new sign of life.

Recently Industry insider and leaker Daniel Richtman spoke outwho has proven himself to be a reliable source for news from the film business several times in the past. According to him, the Netflix series of “Pokémon” is still in production and the project has by no means been put on ice.
Unfortunately, Richtman was unable or unwilling to reveal any further details. So there are still no details about the story or a concrete start date for the series. But at least the waiting fans can now look to the future with a little more peace of mind and, above all, more confidence.
