Funcom will release the open world survival MMO “Dune: Awakening” for PC in early 2025; the console version will be released later. At the gamescom Opening Night Live, fans were given a 5-minute first look at the gameplay. For the first time, it was shown how players can go from foraging and simple survival to a position where they can mobilize an entire guild on the hunt for spice.
“Dune: Awakening” will be on the gamescom show floor with a 30-minute presentation and Fremkit swag; the giant sandworm is hard to miss. For those who have to stay at home, the presentation will be streamed by various creators such as Sacriel, Alphacast and Mowky. Journalists and creators will also receive further insights behind closed doors, which they will soon share with the public.
“It’s always special to show gameplay for the first time, especially when the interaction between all the systems creates completely unexpected moments. The team has done a great job and we’re excited to see how the community reacts.”
Joel Bylos, Creative Director bei Funcom
