SNK CORPORATION has announced that FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves will be released on April 24, 2025 for PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and the Epic Games Store.
SNK’s popular Fatal Fury series debuted in 1991 and ushered in the fighting game boom of the 90s. GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES (released in 1999) was the last spin-off of the series for a long time, but 26 years later there is finally a new part: FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves.
FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves features a striking art style, an innovative Rev system for powerful attacks, and plenty of new mechanics that make fighting even more fun. Additionally, there are two different control settings that allow both veterans and newcomers to enjoy the game, as well as many other new features.
22 fighters will roam the streets of South Town – 17 in the base game and five from Season Pass 1. The brand new REV system offers completely new ways to go into overdrive from the first gong strike: REV Arts, REV Accel, REV Blows and more charge the REV meter to overheating.
In addition, classic aspects of the Fatal Fury combat system return: combo attacks, just defense, braking, evasive attacks, feints and SPG (Selective Potential Gear) are back and have been polished up for modern gameplay.
Players can choose between two input systems depending on their experience level: Arcade Style is based on precise, technical inputs, while Smart Style allows players to perform flashy special moves and combos using the directional keys and individual buttons.
In Arcade Mode, players experience the story of South Town as the City of Wolves rises to pursue the legacy of Geese Howard. Mother, son, brother, master, close friends, deadly enemies – emotions, memories and more draw the fighters into an epic meeting with destiny.
EPISODES OF SOUTH TOWN is a single player RPG mode where players compete against opponents under various conditions, collecting XP and reaping rewards. They level up their fighter, build up their skillset and dominate the opposition on their way to the top.
FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves comes with rollback netcode and cross-platform functionality from the start, allowing for seamless battles against opponents from all over the world, even against players on different systems. There are modes such as Ranked Match, Casual Match and Room Match for additional variety. Players can also compete against clones, which use machine learning systems to study their fighting style and that of all other players, becoming faithful copies of the original.
Other additional content includes the Color Editor, which allows players to spice up the outfits of their favorite fighters, or the Jukebox with a range of songs from Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting.
FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves will be released on April 24, 2025 and can only be purchased in a bundle with the base game and Season Pass 1. The base game is not available on its own. Those who pre-order will receive the FATAL FURY 2: TERRY costume and three days early access.
