Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have decided to divorce, they claim TMZ sources. According to the publication, Lopez filed for divorce on August 20, the two-year anniversary of her wedding ceremony with Affleck.
It is noteworthy that Lopez allegedly filed for divorce on her own, without the participation of a lawyer. According to TMZ, the documents name April 26, 2024, as the date of the couple’s actual separation.
If TMZ is correct, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s marriage lasted less than two years. Although the ceremony took place on August 20, 2022, the marriage was actually registered on July 16, 2022.
According to the publication, the documents state that the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement. This means that Lopez and Affleck will have to divide the income and property received during the marriage.
The reasons for the divorce are not reported. Affleck and Lopez got married on their second attempt: the couple announced their engagement back in 2002, but the wedding, planned for 2023, was canceled the day before the ceremony. Affleck and Lopez started dating again only in 2021.
Apparently, after the divorce, Lopez will decide to return to her old surname. Formally, after her marriage to Affleck, she became Jennifer Lynn Affleck.
