With the launch of Black Myth: Wukong, the development team at Game Science made an incredible debut last week. The action spectacle was a huge hit on Steam alone and set several records on the Valve platform. Among other things, more than 2.4 million players were playing the title at the same time at launch – a figure that no other single-player game on Steam has ever achieved.
Only PUBG: Battlegrounds is ahead of Black Myth: Wukong in Steam’s all-time rankings. Almost seven years ago, the battle royale shooter had over 3.2 million users playing simultaneously. Incidentally, the current hype surrounding Black Myth: Wukong is far from over, even a week after its launch. According to SteamDB, over 2.06 million players were online at the same time in the last 24 hours. The title remains number 1 on Steam – and is also a financial success.
Is Black Myth: Wukong also available for console?
While in recent days most of the reports have been about the number of players of Black Myth: Wukong on the PC, the game has been released for another platform on August 20, 2024. The new action title can now also be purchased for PS5. Just three days after the launch, Black Myth: Wukong has managed to sell 10 million units worldwide – and the game has not even been released for Xbox Series X/S yet.

When will Black Myth: Wukong be available for Xbox?
Black Myth: Wukong was originally supposed to be available for Xbox Series X/S right from launch, but there are currently a few problems with the game. The project is said to have failed several checks because a memory leak not only affects the performance of the action title, but also leads to massive crashes. So there is now some bad news for all Xbox owners.

At Gamescom, insider “exTas1s” learned from several developers that Black Myth: Wukong for Xbox Series X/S has been postponed indefinitely for the time being. However, the team wants to fix the error quickly in order to be able to make the game available on the Xbox platforms, as “exTas1s” recently revealed on X (formerly Twitter). So for the moment, a little patience is required.
