Crucial has expanded its T500 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD series with a 4TB model, available with or without an aluminum heatsink and just a graphene sticker.
The Crucial T500 series of drives was introduced in 2023. However, at that time, the company only released 500 GB models, as well as 1 and 2 TB, promising to release an even more capacious 4 TB version in the future. The manufacturer kept this promise, but later.
For the 4TB model, the company claims sequential read speeds of up to 7,000MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 6,900MB/s. That’s down from the 2TB version, which offers speeds of up to 7,400MB/s and 7,000MB/s, respectively.
The Crucial T500 is based on Micron 232L 3D TLC NAND memory chips and a Phison PS5025-E25 controller, which supports four channels of NAND memory and is equipped with DRAM cache.
The Crucial T500 4TB version with an aluminum heatsink is priced by the manufacturer at $449, while the version without a heatsink is priced at $399. However, the SSD is currently being offered in the US at a discount: the version with a heatsink is selling for $319.99, while the version without one is selling for $309.99.
