The digital distribution service Steam shared fresh statistics regarding user preferences when choosing hardware and operating systems. According to the published information, Windows 11 managed to overtake its predecessor in popularity. Its share by the end of August grew to almost 49.2%, while the “ten” continues to be used by more than 47% of platform users. Let us recall that the official release of Windows 10 took place in the summer of 2015.
The most popular video card remains the GeForce RTX 3060 with a rate of 5.36%. It is followed by the mobile 3D accelerator GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop, while the GeForce GTX 1650 model also made it into the top three. As for 3D accelerators from Intel and AMD, integrated video cores can boast the highest rate (1.93%).
Of other things, it is worth noting the still high popularity of 6- and 8-core processors (31.74% and 21.15%, respectively), displays with a Full HD resolution, which are used by more than half of the Steam audience, 16 gigabytes of RAM (47.36%), and the most popular VR headset remains the Oculus Quest 2 (38.33%).
