And during the conversation, the current figure of 18 million copies sold was announced.
Black Myth: Wukong took over six years to develop. It cost $70 million, with Hero Games contributing a significant portion of the budget. The game has already earned over $700 million (some analysts estimate the figure to be over $800 million). Before this success, both companies were on the verge of bankruptcy, as previous joint projects had failed. Overall, the companies hope to sell up to 30 million copies of Black Myth: Wukong. They also hope that the game’s success will encourage other companies to create games based on Chinese culture and history.
