With the Grand Festival, the biggest Splatfest in “Splatoon 3” on Nintendo Switch is just around the corner. From September 13th at 2:00 a.m. (CEST) to September 16th at 1:59 a.m. (CEST), players can expect 72 hours of color battles, community fun and music. This time, the teams will be selected by answering the difficult question: “What is most important to you? Past, present or future?”
During the celebrations, all three groups from the Splatoon series, Sea Sirens, TentaCool and Surimi Syndicate, will perform – and really get Inklings and Octolings going with their songs. In the first 48 hours, they will take turns performing on three different stages, while in the last 24 hours they will present their new single “Three Wishes” in a joint show. By pressing the directional buttons, players can express their party mood with exclusive emotes. Off the stages, Inklings and Octolings can show off their skills in three-color battles all weekend long. In the first half, the arenas from previous three-color battles will alternate with one another, including the Searing Rift, which was previously only available in the “Splatoon x The Legend of Zelda” Splatfest. During the last 24 hours, the color battles will take place in the exclusive Splatsville Grand Arena. When players grab the Surimi signal there, they are cheered on by their team’s supporters.
To capture an unforgettable snapshot of the Grand Festival, players who have achieved the rank of Ultimate Fan or higher in Splatfest can take photos with the three groups on the Giant Clam Stage. Those who own the Expansion Pass for Splatoon 3 can get the Sea Sirens and TentaCool poses in addition to the Surimi Syndicate pose. And for those who even reach the title of Ultimate Fan, a brand new pose will be unlocked. By the way, rumor has it that the staff scaffolding in front of the Giant Clam Stage is a great place for photos…
But even before the Grand Festival, a lot is happening in Splatsville. Bär GmbH is looking for new employees for the next Big Run event, as the salmonids will be invading the festival grounds from September 7th to 9th. As an incentive, all participants will receive scales as a reward if a total of 700,000,000 gold fish eggs are collected worldwide during the event.
In addition, two new amiibo double packs are being released today: one of the Squid Sisters and one of TentaCool, both based on their appearance in the paid Splatoon 3 single-player experience Call to Order. Those who scan the figures can receive exclusive gear and take photos with the duos.
For almost two years now, Inklings and Octolings have been romping about in the sun-scorched Splatsville district of “Splatoon 3,” which was released on September 9, 2022. In addition to the regularly recurring Splatfests, players can splatter their way to victory in 4-on-4 turf wars online and offline, fend off swarms of salmonids and waves of dangerous bosses in the Salmon Run co-op mode for up to four players, and discover the secrets of Alterna in the single-player campaign. In addition, the expansion pass for “Splatoon 3” offers a new single-player experience that is designed to be played again and again. With the Grand Festival, the Big Run, and new amiibo figures, splashy color battles, community fun, and more await all Inklings and Octolings in September.
