Microids and Savage Level have unveiled the third and final installment of their Flint: Treasure of Oblivion developer diaries. After exploring the motivations and inspirations behind the game in the first episode, and then the narrative in the second, this new video focuses on the game’s mechanics.
The creators discussed the challenges the studio faced in creating authentic gameplay mechanics while staying true to the pirate theme of the universe. The video also highlights how the different archetypes are managed to develop effective strategies. Battles, especially 15v15 skirmishes, require precise management of your team’s skills, but above all, a good tactical sense, the use of verticality and squad positioning. Inspired by tabletop and role-playing games, the gameplay is designed to be both accessible and deep, offering players an experience that is both intuitive and demanding.
Flint: Treasure of Oblivion will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 24, 2024.
