Russian actor, director, producer and bodybuilder Alexander Nevsky teased fans of his work for several years with the idea of a film based on the Serious Sam shooter series from the Croteam studio and finally took the project seriously.
The day before, Nevsky announced on his microblog that he was working on the script for the film Serious Nevsky, which, apparently, is directly inspired by the aforementioned Croteam franchise.
“The earth is again under threat of complete destruction. But SERIOUS NEVSKY stands in the way of the alien monster dictator and his army of bloodthirsty zombies.”says the plot of the future picture.
Nevsky attached an unofficial illustration of himself as Cool Sam to his message (see image above) and thanked the fans: “Thanks to everyone who didn’t let me forget about this project!”
The fact is that the actor and director has been talking about a potential adaptation/screen adaptation of Serious Sam since the beginning of 2021, but the matter has never gone beyond serious consideration and discussion with international distributors.
Let us recall that in the games of the Serious Sam series, the main character – the mercenary Samuel Stone (aka Cool Sam) – confronts the alien leader Mental, who is trying to destroy humanity at one point or another in its history.
The newest release in the Serious Sam franchise remains the stand-alone add-on Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem to Serious Sam 4 (2020), released in early 2022. In October 2020, Croteam was purchased by Devolver Digital.
