The long-awaited post-apocalyptic open-world shooter STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl turned out to be far from ideal in technical terms, but the developers from the GSC Game World studio have already outlined a plan for corrections.
As reported by GSC Game World on the Steam platform, the first post-release patch for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be released on PC and Xbox during this week (that is, from November 25 to December 1).
The upcoming update will bring with it several requested fixes and improvements:
- eliminate crashes caused by errors in the memory allocation process and other problems;
- they will fix story missions, freeing them from bugs that impede completion;
- will correct the prices of weapons with installed upgrades and the behavior of NPCs during emissions;
- they will add missing facial animations, return lost NPCs to their place, eliminate visual bugs (such as heads torn from the body or clothes getting stuck);
- will increase the quality and stability of visual effects;
- will correct the display of tasks during dialogues, errors in texts and add missing hints for interactions.
GSC Game World also named areas of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl that will still receive improvements in the future – these are the dead zones of the analog sticks and the A-Life system, which is currently riddled with bugs.
Let us remind you that A-Life coordinates and controls what people and animals do in the Zone, even when the player is not nearby. Since the release, users have been complaining about strange behavior of the system (in particular, related to the appearance of NPCs).
“We would like to assure you once again that we will make every effort to continuously improve STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl. We truly appreciate your feedback and suggestions.”concluded GSC Game World.
STALKER 2 was released on November 20 on PC (Steam, GOG, Microsoft Store, EGS), Xbox Series X and S, as well as Game Pass. Total sales of the game in the first two days after release exceeded 1 million copies.
