No sooner had the post-apocalyptic open-world shooter STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl from the developers from the GSC Game World studio reached release than it already turned out to be a bestseller.
GSC Game World announced that just two days after its release, total worldwide sales of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl on all target platforms exceeded one million copies.
It is worth noting that since mid-2021, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl has been available for pre-order on digital platforms, so it is likely that at least part of the mentioned value was realized before the release.
“It’s no surprise that the Zone seems to have become a little more crowded. A million copies have been sold, and many more stalkers have joined the hunt for the artifact through Game Pass.”the developers added.
The authors also thanked the players: “This is just the beginning of our unforgettable adventure. The heart of Chernobyl shines brighter with each of us. With deep recognition, like the network of X laboratories, we want to say: thank you, stalkers!”
The events of STALKER 2 take place 10 years after Call of Pripyat. Players in the role of the lone stalker Skif will have to navigate their way through the Zone to find the “heart of Chernobyl” and determine their fate.
STALKER 2 was released on November 20 on PC (Steam, GOG, Microsoft Store, EGS), Xbox Series X and S, as well as Game Pass. The game suffers from a large number of technical problems – the developers are aware of them and are aimed at eliminating them.
