Announced more than two years ago, the fantasy metroidvania Mandragora from developers from the Hungarian Primal Game Studio has finally received an exact release date. The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer.
Let us remind you that at the start of the Kickstarter campaign in the fall of 2022, the release of Mandragora was expected in the second half of 2023, and last summer the developers announced the postponement of the game to 2024.
As it became known, Mandragora will go on sale only on April 17, 2025 simultaneously for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PS5, Xbox Series X, S and Nintendo Switch. Following the announcement, pre-orders started:
- standard edition (1,799 rubles on Russian Steam) – pre-order bonuses include two pre-release builds of the game (one is already available, the second is expected in early 2025), an additional quest, an armor transmog kit and a pet;
- extended edition (2,249 rubles) – the same bonuses, as well as an exclusive set for transmogrification of armor and a pet, soundtrack and art book.
The authors explained the postponement to 2025 by saying that they did not have time to prepare Mandragora for release in the required quality. The extra time will allow the team to integrate suggestions received from those who tried the October demo into the game.
The events of Mandragora will unfold in the gloomy world of Feldum, in which humanity is forced to hide from monsters behind brick walls. Gamers will have to go on a campaign under the cover of darkness and free their people.
Players will battle ruthless enemies and deadly bosses, find new allies, solve complex ethical dilemmas, hone their skills, and create powerful weapons, armor, and tools.
They promise a huge atmospheric world, action in the style of Dark Souls, a non-linear story from Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines screenwriter Brian Mitsoda, a thoughtful development system, “New Game +” and translation into Russian.
