Anthropic has introduced a new feature for its artificial intelligence chatbot Claude, similar to ChatGPT and Gemini, that allows you to set the style of the generated texts. You can choose one of three ready-made presets, or create an individual one that suits the user’s personal preferences and tasks.
For quick selection, as The Verge reports, three ready-made styles are available: Formal, Concise and Explanatory. Formal (formal) for creating clear and neat text, Concise (short) for concise answers, Explanatory (explanatory) for texts with additional details. If none of the presets are suitable, Claude can learn the user’s individual style. To do this, you need to upload sample text that reflects your preferred style and give the chatbot additional instructions if necessary.
The feature is aimed at those who want to make interactions with AI more natural and relevant to different contexts. “You can choose between detailed texts when you’re learning something new or short answers when you’re in a hurry. You can customize Claude to sound more formal in some situations or friendly and casual in others.“Explains Anthropic product manager Scott White. The main thing is that now you can set these preferences once and get ideal answers in the future.”
While the new Custom Writing Style feature makes using Claude more flexible and highly personalized, it’s not all that unique. For example, ChatGPT and Gemini offer similar options for customizing the tone and level of detail in responses. Gemini is also used to quickly edit drafts in Gmail, and Apple’s Writing Tools offers similar presets.
