The fantasy role-playing game Baldur’s Gate 3 from developers from the Belgian Larian Studios left early access more than a year ago, but continues to hold the attention of users.
The head of the publishing department, Michael Douse, reported on his microblog that the activity indicators of the Baldur’s Gate 3 community in 2024 are superior to those in 2023.
In particular, the average daily peak online and daily active players increased by 3% and 20%, respectively, as well as the average number of daily players on Steam Deck by 61%.
Dawes added that since his last publication, the number of copies sold of Baldur’s Gate 3 in the Vatican has increased from two to three. Another user from the residence of the Pope continues to keep the game on his wishlist.
Larian does not disclose the overall results of Baldur’s Gate 3, but, according to Daus, the game’s sales graph becomes similar to “the heartbeat of a little contented man”.
According to Daus, the increase in popularity of Baldur’s Gate 3 compared to the year of release is due to the addition of official mod support to the game. According to Larian statistics, modifications are used by more than 40% of the project’s audience.
Baldur’s Gate 3 left early access on August 3, 2023 on PC (Steam, GOG), and subsequently reached Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X and S. In March, Larian head Swen Vincke hinted that sales of the game would exceed 15 million copies.
