There have been rumors for months now that Microsoft plans to continue releasing games from its in-house studios on Playstation consoles. This is confirmed by Xbox executives, but at the moment only 4 games since the announcement of the new strategy have been released on Sony consoles: Sea of Thieves, Grounded, Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment.
Previously, Phil Spencer stated that there are no “red lines” regarding the release of Xbox games on the Playstation, that is, even the largest franchises, such as Halo, Gears or Forza, can be released. According to new information from insider eXtas1stv, the version of Forza Horizon 5 for Playstation 5 is already ready.
Insider eXtas1stv has repeatedly confirmed that he has accurate information from the Xbox camp – he often named games for Game Pass earlier this year long before they were announced for subscription. Answering questions from players on Twitter, he said that the version of Forza Horizon 5 for Sony consoles is ready, but Microsoft decided to hold back its release:
Forza Horizon 5 already has a port ready for Playstation 5. But its release was stopped (not cancelled) this summer. Of course, they believe that this is a game that can perform quite well (in terms of sales). It will appear, I don’t know when, but it will come out.
In October of this year, insider eXtas1stv said that Microsoft had temporarily slowed down the pace of releasing its games on the Playstation 5 amid negative reactions from players.
