November has already reached its halfway point, and the promised release of the adventure Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy by publisher Microids is still not on the horizon. The company issued an official statement.
As a reminder, Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy is a remake of the debut game by Belgian artist and designer Benoit Sokal. The project debuted in 1999 and formed the basis of the Syberia series.
According to Microids, the updated Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy will not be released in either November or December. It was decided to postpone the release until the second quarter of 2025 (that is, the period from April to June).
Microids made this decision to guarantee users of Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy “optimal gaming experience and total immersion in this extraordinary adventure”.
“We still have work to do to make the game what we intended it to be: a powerful tribute to Benoit Sokal and his work, but also a journey of initiation that veterans and new players can (re)discover in the best possible conditions.”explained Microids.
Amerzone takes place in the lost Latin American region of Amerzone, home to mythical white birds. Players will explore ruins, interact with colorful NPCs, and solve riddles.
A remake of Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy is being created for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. They promise reworked puzzles, additional challenges, “enriched with new features” script and text translation into Russian.
