Google was fined 3.8 million rubles for failing to remove prohibited information. Interfax reports this with reference to the press service of the Tagansky Court of Moscow, which made the decision.
“Google LLC was given a fine of 3.8 million rubles”,” the press service reported on Monday, November 18.
It is reported that Google was found guilty of failure to delete information, access to which is subject to restriction (Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation).
Earlier it was reported that the total amount of demands of Russian television companies against American Google reached two undecillion (2 × 1036) rubles. The company must pay such a fine for blocking their accounts on YouTube.
In recent years, failure to remove content, the distribution of which is prohibited by law in Russia, has led to numerous fines against large foreign IT companies, such as Apple, Google, Telegram, Meta✴ Platforms and a number of others.
