Fans are only expecting a new game from FromSoftware: a remaster of the gothic action game Bloodborne, which was locked on PS4, but it seems that the Japanese studio is preparing to once again disappoint the expectations of its fans.
XboxEra podcast co-host Nick Baker, citing his informant, reported that a remaster is currently being prepared for the action-RPG Dark Souls 3 from FromSoftware.
Baker spoke about a potential re-release of Dark Souls 3 during a recent episode of the XboxEra podcast. According to him, he is aware of additional details of the future release, but does not yet have the right to disclose them.
While discussing possible features of a Dark Souls 3 remaster with other members of the podcast, Baker hinted that the production of an updated version “It probably won’t take that long.”.
Let us remind you that, due to backward compatibility on current generation consoles, Dark Souls 3 runs at 60 frames/s (thanks to the FPS Boost function on Xbox) – in 1080p resolution on PS5 and 900p on Xbox Series X and S.
QLOC/Virtuos’ remaster of the original Dark Souls, released in 2018, included technical and gameplay improvements, as well as the story add-on Artorias of the Abyss.
Dark Souls 3 debuted in April 2016 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The game received high praise, received the Ashes of Ariandel (October 2016) and The Ringed City (March 2017) expansions, and sold at least 10 million copies.
