The game No Man’s Sky was released in 2016 as a Playstation console exclusive, and also appeared on PC. Some time later, it was released on Xbox and Nintendo consoles.
At the start, the project faced big technical problems, as well as negative feedback from players. The developers of No Man’s Sky did not implement a significant portion of the features that they announced in the trailers when the project was announced.
Now No Man’s Sky is significantly different from the game that was at release. Hello Games regularly releases major updates every 2-3 months that add new features, content, and more.
Recently, the rating for No Man’s Sky on Steam changed to “Very Positive”. As engine programmer Martin Griffiths said on social networks, this means a lot for the team.
Hello Games engine programmer
Shortly after the initial release of No Man’s Sky, I had a meeting with Sean (Murray, head of Hello Games) in a pub in Guildford, and everything he said at that dinner echoed what I was taught as a child. I am grateful for this synchronicity.
Our tiny Hello Games team developed the game and then improved it even further. And while “Very Positive” is just a few words, it means a lot, especially since we’re not even close to finishing it yet. Thank you to all the players who believed in us and to those of you who continue to travel with us.
As a reminder, No Man’s Sky is available on Game Pass.
