Rafael Colantonio, a well-known specialist in the gaming industry, who founded Arkane and Wolfeye, praised the game almost immediately after the release of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, noting that he considered its assessment on aggregator sites unfair. According to him, the game was “a little raw” at the time of release, but this does not mean that a score of 73 points out of 100 reflects its quality.
A little more than a week has passed since the release of STALKER 2, and Colantonio made a new statement on his social networks. According to him, the project became his personal “Game of the Year,” and the feeling from it is close to what he experienced from Baldur’s Gate 3.
Rafael Colantonio
Founder of Arkane and Wolfeye
STALKER 2 isn’t perfect, but it’s my Game of the Year. The atmosphere, the cruelty of the world, survival, the ability to freely explore the world… The last game I liked to the same extent was Baldur’s Gate 3.
Speaking to players, Colantonio also noted that he had not noticed a significant decrease in difficulty since update 1.0.1, which came out late last week. Although some of his readers said in the comments that now they do not feel “cruelty of the world”and im “even Starfield now seems more difficult than STALKER 2”.
