The web version of “VK Video” was moved to a separate domain vkvideo.ru – now it can be specified in the address bar of the browser to quickly find materials presented on the platform: films, broadcasts, shows and videos recorded by bloggers.

New functions have appeared on VK Video, and the site navigation has been updated. It is possible, in particular, to transfer subscriptions to your favorite authors from other platforms in order to track the emergence of new products. Quick access to the list of authors has appeared in the “Subscriptions” section, and in the general feed you can now hide materials that are not of interest to the user. Ease of navigation will be ensured by the sections “Continue Watching”, “Subscriptions”, “Movies”, “Series”, “TV Channels” and “Shows” that have appeared on the main page.
“A separate VK Video domain will allow for faster implementation of technologies and tools for creators and will open up new opportunities for monetization: for example, more flexible advertising models or premium features for video bloggers. Users, in turn, will receive not only a lot of high-quality video content, but also a format for consuming it that is familiar to them.”said Nikolay Duksin, vice president for music and video services at VK.
The VK Video platform began to actively gain popularity as YouTube slowed down – already in early August its application became the most downloaded in Russia. VK has expanded its content delivery network and transferred video from all its services to a single cloud storage, improved the video editor and added the ability to create interactive videos.
