ANO Internet Development Institute (IRI) invested more than 1.5 billion rubles in gaming projects in 2024, but what results did they show? The organization spoke about this in a new publication on its website.

As it became known, the games created with the support of Iran in total reached more than 6.7 million downloads and unique users: 1 million downloads were for the action role-playing game “Time of Troubles” and educational applications “Time of Troubles.”
The personal performance of other games is not disclosed, but IRI provides a rating of its most popular projects released on PC. In addition to “The Time of Troubles”/“Time of Troubles”, the list included (the rating in VK Play is indicated in parentheses):
- sci-fi tactical RPG Saturn (8.3 out of 10);
- military strategy “Forward Edge” (9.5);
- turn-based tactical strategy “Sparta 2035” about an elite squad of mercenaries in Africa;
- historical strategy about the period of the Napoleonic wars “Combat order: Denis Davydov” (8.1);
- detective turn-based strategy “SSR: Enemy from the Future” (8.7);
- visual novel “Immortal Symphony” (9.8) about besieged Leningrad.
At the same time, more than half of all downloads (3.4 million) come from mobile children’s games, including “Academicians of Fun Games” (with the heroes of “Soyuzmultfilm”) and a game trip through museums “Fixies: A Space Story!”

According to Deputy Director General of Iran Andrei Voronkov, the achieved result indicates that “(Russian) gamers have no bias towards domestic projects”.
“This is a good number, given the large number of fairly niche (games), for example, strategy games. Of course, this is preliminary data, since many projects were released relatively recently and had minimal investment in marketing.”Voronkov added.
Earlier, the deputy director of IRI said that the organization is trying to increase funding annually and plans to increase investments in gaming projects to 2 billion rubles in 2025.
