The Argonaut Games studio, revived almost 20 years after its closure, presented the game Croc: Legend of the Gobbos this year. This is a remaster of the first part of the Croc series, which was released as a Playstation exclusive in 1997. The project was planned to be released before the end of 2024, but it became known that the developers did not have time to finish it.
The new release window for Croc: Legend of the Gobbos was announced as the 1st quarter of 2025. The project is planned to be released immediately on Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Switch and PC. For the first time, a game in the Croc series will reach Microsoft consoles.
The developers of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos noted in the announcement of the transfer that they need to make the final touches so that the game meets the “high standards” at launch. The authors apologized for not being able to release it in time for the holiday season.
Croc: Legend of the Gobbos is a 3D platformer about Croc the crocodile. In the remaster, the developers have improved the graphics, updated the controls and promise to add a digital museum with materials about the creation of the original game.
