Almost a third of players don’t use power saving mode on Xbox Series X | S

In 2022, Microsoft significantly updated the power saving mode on Xbox Series X consoles | S. Firstly, we reduced the time of the start animation on the console when exiting the mode: from 9 seconds to 5 seconds, due to which launching from it became faster. Secondly, it became possible to download game updates when the console is in this mode.

These moves made Power Saving Mode more attractive to gamers, and Microsoft began offering it by default on Xbox Series X | S install it, and not the standard standby mode. To motivate players to do this, in the console settings you can now even see how much electricity the console consumes in different modes, and when saving energy, this value is about 20 times less than in normal standby mode.

Despite efforts from Microsoft, there are still approximately a third of players who continue to use standby mode. This follows from the results of the year, where users who have not yet switched to energy saving receive a corresponding block of information. According to Microsoft, about 34% of active Xbox users still ignore the power saving mode and continue to use standby mode.
