American actor Doug Cockle, who gave the voice of Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher games from CD Projekt Red, took back his words about the participation of his character in the next The Witcher (codenamed Polaris).
Let us remind you that Cockle, in an August video for the Fall Damage YouTube channel, said that Geralt will appear in The Witcher 4, but will not be the main character in it: “The game will not focus on him, this time the story is not about him.”.
As noted by the PC Gamer portal, at a performance at the recent Comic Con festival in Birmingham, the artist spoke about the unpleasant consequences of his statement. According to Kokl, CD Projekt reprimanded him.
“I made some statements about this online and then received a reprimand from CD Projekt, because I don’t know how much of it (that is, the information about Geralt’s appearance in The Witcher 4 – approx.) is true.”Cockle said.
As the actor explained, he based his statement on hearing: “I thought someone from CD Projekt said that Geralt would be in Witcher 4, but not as the main character. I don’t even know anymore, because (in the studio) they told me, “We haven’t announced anything, don’t talk about anything!”
Whether Geralt will appear in The Witcher 4 or not, time will tell, but Cockle himself seems to be involved in the project. The actor refused to comment on the appearance of a stub page for the game on GOG, citing the fact that he had signed a non-disclosure agreement.
Polaris is set to be CD Projekt Red’s next big release. The game recently entered active production, employing 400 of the studio’s 650 employees. The project is positioned as the first “The Witcher” in a new trilogy.
