CD Projekt RED studio presented a major update 2.2 for Cyberpunk 2077. Last year, the developers announced that they would stop releasing updates for the game, but this week they unexpectedly announced and now released a new major update. Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2 is coming to Xbox Series X today | S, Playstation 5 and PC.
As you know, the latest reports from CD Projekt RED indicated that since the beginning of this year no one has been working on Cyberpunk 2077. It turned out that partner studio Virtuous was working on update 2.2.
The main changes that await players in Cyberpunk 2077 with update 2.2:
- Players will be able to repaint their cars on the go, even “borrowing” colors from other cars. The idea is that if you’re driving down the street and see a car you like, you can save its livery in a database and apply it to your cars from there. By doing so, the developers have created an additional aspect of skin collecting and exploration in Cyberpunk 2077.
- Changing colors during a police chase will help you escape, but this feature is not available for stolen cars.
- 10 vehicles previously unavailable for purchase or ownership will be added to Autofixer: eight in the base game and two in the Phantom Liberty expansion.
- Johnny Silverhand, played by Keanu Reeves, will appear next to you in the passenger seat about 25% of the time now. The idea is to increase Johnny’s presence in the game. He will also make various comments, including offensive ones. Players will be able to use Photo Mode when Johnny is sitting next to them.
- In the photo mod, the camera will be improved: it will be possible to move it further, disable collisions for close shots, and select the photo format (only on PC). New lighting and depth of field settings will be added.
- The game will feature a virtual gallery for photos from the photo mode, available in all V’s apartments, where you can set your favorite photos.
- The character editor has been updated with more than a hundred new details. We also added a randomizer to create random characters based on your preferences.
Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.2 is out today. You can read the full patch notes on the developers’ site.
Note that the game itself is available at a significant discount as part of the sale for The Game Awards.
