Facebook✴, Instagram✴, Threads and WhatsApp users around the world are experiencing outages. Users of Meta✴-owned services have complained of problems with sending messages, downloading photos and videos, or in general that the services are unusually slow. The causes of the global outage are still unknown.
The outages affected all major Meta✴ services and were widespread. Apparently, the outages began shortly after 21:00 Moscow time, and are being experienced by a significant number of users from different parts of the world. Meta✴ has not yet provided any comments regarding the outages.
Facebook✴ and Facebook✴ Messenger, Instagram✴ and Threads, as well as WhatsApp messenger were affected. Most complaints point to the inability to use the service’s application or website, the inability to publish content, very slow loading, not always the first time, as well as various errors. For example, all posts on Facebook✴ show zero comments
We add that cases of such large-scale failures that lead to the simultaneous shutdown of so many large services are extremely rare. On the other hand, Meta✴ owns and operates some of the most popular social platforms in the world, so when its services experience outages, everyone notices.
At the time of writing this material, the flow of complaints about problems with Facebook✴, Instagram✴, Threads and WhatsApp began to subside and, at least some users, began to report that everything had returned to normal. However, slow loading times still occur. There has been no official confirmation of a solution to the problem yet.
