Recently, Ubisoft has finally begun to turn its face to Steam users: following Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the French company has added support for achievements to two more games in the series available in the Valve store.
As the PCGamesN portal noted, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Assassin’s Creed Unity unexpectedly received support for the Steam trophy system without any warning from Ubisoft.
Ubisoft, to put it mildly, was in no hurry. Black Flag turned 11 years old in October, and Unity turned ten exactly a month ago. The moment of adding achievements to both games can be tracked through the SteamDB service – this happened today, December 11th.
The presence of achievements in Black Flag and Unity is displayed on their Steam pages (not available in the Russian region). Users report that there is no need to repeat the conditions for obtaining trophies – those already knocked out will drop out automatically.
It was previously reported that Ubisoft is preparing a remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag (release expected in November 2025). Fans are hoping that the addition of achievements to the Steam version of the game indicates that an announcement is imminent.
There’s every reason to believe that future Assassin’s Creed games will launch on Steam with achievement support right away: at least that’s what’s happened so far with the newest release in the franchise, Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
In the meantime, following the September port, Ubisoft plans to release Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Steam at the same time as its other target platforms. The release is scheduled for February 14, 2025.
