CD Projekt RED quite unexpectedly released a new major update for Cyberpunk 2077 numbered 2.2. The update is already available on Xbox Series X | S, Playstation 5 and PC. The update itself was developed by Virtuous studio, and it is aimed at increasing the level of customization in the game and improving the photo mode. The announcement of the update also says that the developers have hidden many new secrets in Night City that players will have to find.
The Cyberpunk 2077 patch 2.2 description doesn’t say anything about performance improvements or changes to graphics quality. However, tests have appeared that allow you to evaluate how the game works after the update on Xbox Series X | S. In short, there are no significant differences from version 2.1.
On Xbox Series X, the game has 2 modes: performance and quality (with ray tracing). In performance mode 1440p upscaled to 1800p at 60 FPS. In 1440p quality mode, upscaled to 4K at 30 FPS. The quality mode more consistently maintains the stated frame rate; in the performance mode there are drops of 5-8 FPS, especially during explosions and shootouts during fast driving.
On Xbox Series S, in performance mode, scaling to 1080p at 60 FPS, in quality mode, scaling to 1440p at 30 FPS. During moments of explosions and active firefights in performance mode, there are drops of 5-10 frames per second.
