The role-playing game Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader from the studio Owlcat Games recently turned one year old, and the developers decided to mark the memorable date by releasing a large-scale free update.
Patch 1.3.0.47 is already available on PC (Steam, GOG, EGS), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. The new version contains more than a thousand changes, the main ones of which are highlighted in the release trailer (attached below).
Key innovations include additional intro videos and “big improvements” some old ones, expanding the list of voiced lines (character dialogues, cutscenes) and implementing a cooperative mode on consoles.
Other notable changes in patch 1.3:
- Belief points have become “significantly” more accessible;
- updating the narrative component of the events of the colonies and a wide range of new rewards for them;
- battles were made more difficult and interesting in accordance with fan feedback;
- the developers have changed the balance of equipment and trophy tables for the first two chapters to improve the progression system;
- added 12 new psycho-power swords and more than 20 items;
- improved models of Heinrichs, Abelard, Kybella and Argenta – now they look more like their portraits;
- Many previously blocked items have become available for use by Irlieth and Marazhai;
- added support for 4K resolution on PS5 Pro.
Among other things, the developers fixed a number of bugs (including those that blocked passage), adjusted the mechanics and improved the visual component. The full list of changes is available on the Owlcat website.
Rogue Trader players, in the role of a Rogue Trader, will be tasked with expanding the boundaries of the Emperor’s possessions in the Koronus Expanse. The RPG offers the impact of decisions on the world, romances with companions, co-op for six and support for the Russian language.
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader was released on December 7, 2023 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and in September 2024 it received the first of two story additions – Void Shadows. The Lex Imperialis addon has been delayed until spring 2025.
