The contextual advertising service Google AdSense announced its intention to curtail its activities in the Republic of Belarus and stop servicing user accounts registered in the country. Previously, a similar decision was made by the company regarding Russian web publishers.
“On December 13, 2024, we will deactivate all advertising manager, AdSense and AdMob accounts for users from Belarus. This means that monetization through such accounts will no longer be possible. December earnings will be paid approximately January 21-26, 2025, unless your account is on hold and payment thresholds have been reached.” – says the service message.
Thus, website owners, video bloggers and application developers working on YouTube from Belarus will completely lose access to Google AdSense and the services provided by the advertising network.
Let us note that these are not the first sanctions restrictions against the Republic of Belarus. Previously, the services Docker Hub, Apple Search Ads and Tinder, the corporate messenger Slack, software developer Atlassian (Trello, Jira, Confluence, etc.), SAP and a number of other large foreign IT companies announced their departure from the country.
