Winners and losers of The Game Awards 2024 - Astro Bot was recognized as the game of the year, and the addition to Elden Ring remained without awards

In addition to expected and unexpected announcements, The Game Awards 2024 hosted an award ceremony for the best games of the outgoing year. We will tell you which projects were recognized as winners in this material.

The show’s winner was the adventure platformer Astro Bot. The project from Team Asobi studio celebrated its victory in the categories “Game of the Year”, “Best Game for the Whole Family”, “Best Direction” and “Best Action Adventure”.

Astro Bot’s main competitor in terms of the number of nominations for The Game Awards 2024 – the large-scale role-playing game Final Fantasy VII Rebirth from Square Enix – excelled only in the “Best Soundtrack” category.

Metaphor received three awards each: ReFantazio (Best RPG, Best Narration and Best Visual Style) and Balatro (Best Mobile Game, Best Debut Independent Game and Best Independent Game).

Last year’s triumphant Baldur’s Gate 3 received the “Best Community Support” award, and Black Myth: Wukong had no equal in the categories “Best Action” and “Voice of Players” (in the latter, the winner is determined by gamers themselves).

The sensational addition Shadow of the Erdtree to Elden Ring, despite the hype surrounding the project, remained without awards at all, as did the remake of Silent Hill 2. The full list of nominees and winners of The Game Awards 2024 is given below:
