Publisher Ubisoft has been saying in its reports for several years in a row that it sees the future in the release and development of game services. At the same time, many projects of this type do not reach release and are canceled by the company at the development stage. And those that have been released in recent years are quickly closed due to a lack of interest in them from players.
Well-known gaming journalist Stephen Totilo decided to clearly show how long Ubisoft games with a service development model last. Below you can see an infographic showing the publisher’s game services. Projects that continue to be supported are highlighted in bold; an asterisk next to the games means that they are paid.
Among the games released in the last 5 years, only Riders Republic and Skull & Bones continue to be supported. Other supported Ubisoft service games have gained popularity in their segment for a long time.
Let’s remember that a few weeks ago Ubisoft announced that they would stop supporting the shooter xDefiant, which was released in May of this year and did not even receive all the seasons announced for it.
