Today in Shanghai the final of the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 took place – the last major Counter-Strike 2 tournament this year. In the match for the championship cup and a prize of $500 thousand, the team competed with the Russian-Ukrainian squad of the Serbian organization Team Spirit and the European squad of the American organization FaZe Clan.

The final of this “major” was held in the Bo3 format, that is, up to two victories of one of the teams. The battles took place on the maps Nuke, Ancient and Dust 2 – it was necessary to play all three to determine the winner. The first map was quite easy for Team Spirit and ended with a score of 13:8. On the second map the situation was the opposite: FaZe Clan “closed” their opponents with a score of 13:6.
Everything was decided on the third map, and by the middle of it it seemed that the championship was already in Team Spirit’s pocket. However, the extremely experienced FaZe Clan squad demonstrated an outstanding will to win, winning back from the score 4:11 in favor of the opponent to 11:12. But in the decisive round, youth and energy prevailed over experience: Team Spirit won with a score of 13:11 in their favor, not allowing the opponent to take the game to overtime.
Danil “Donk” Kryshkovets, the main star of Team Spirit, became the youngest major champion in history. Today he is 17 years and 324 days old. Previously, the record was held by Markus Kjærbye, who won the ELEAGUE Major in 2017 at the age of 18 years and 277 days.
Kryshkovets, who plays as a riffler (plays with a machine gun), was recognized as the best player of the match and the entire tournament. In the final match, he scored 69 game kills, dying 44 times, and his rating was 1.67 (HLTV Rating 2.1). For the entire tournament his rating was 1.49. Also today, riffler Boris “magixx” Vorobyov showed an amazing performance, scoring 69 kills and dying only 39 times. Team Spirit consists of captain Leonid “chopper” Vishnyakov, sniper Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov and riffler Miroslav “zont1x” Plahot.
The FaZe Clan roster includes the most experienced captain Finn “karrigan” Andersen, sniper Helvijs “broky” Saukants and rifflers Håvard Nygaard, Robin “ropz” Kool and David ” frozen” by Chernyansky (David Čerňanský).
As the winner, Team Spirit received a unique champion’s cup and $500 thousand in prize money. Team FaZe Clan, which took second place, received $170 thousand.
