If suddenly it seemed to you that Ciri in the debut trailer of The Witcher 4 (“The Witcher 4”) does not speak in her own voice, then it is not in vain. Polish studio CD Projekt Red has confirmed a change in the character’s voice actress.

Let us remember that in the English version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the adopted daughter of Geralt of Rivia was voiced by British actress Jo Wyatt, and in the trailer for The Witcher 4 from The Game Awards 2024, fans immediately suspected something was wrong.
A representative of CD Projekt Red confirmed in a statement to TheGamer that Ciri in the debut trailer of The Witcher 4 and the entire game was given the voice not by Wyatt, but by Irish artist Ciara Berkeley.

“Ciara is a talented actress who has impressed us with her enthusiasm and vocal abilities. We think she brought Ciri to life in this trailer, staying true to the character and inspiring fans of the series.”CDPR assured.
Berkley has already commented on her appointment to the role on her social networks: “Sooo excited to share the trailer for The Witcher 4 – I’m honored to play Ciri in the next chapter of The Witcher saga!”

Why CD Projekt Red did not again seek the services of the previous performer of the role of Ciri is not specified, but The Witcher 4 is positioned as the beginning of a new trilogy, and Wyatt is already 54 years old.
The Witcher 4 is being created on the Unreal Engine 5 and does not yet have even an approximate release date. The game recently entered active production with 400 of CD Projekt Red’s 650 employees working on it.
