2025 hasn’t even started yet, but Microsoft has already announced a slew of big games coming to Xbox users and Game Pass subscribers over the next year. At the same time, according to insiders, there are at least 3 more unannounced projects, which should also be released in 2025.
Recently it became known that The Outer Worlds 2 is one of the games for 2025. This was a surprise to many, given the already rich game lineup and the presence of another Obsidan release (Avowed) in 2025. Well-known journalist and insider Jeff Grubb in the Giant Bomb podcast suggested that the announcement of The Outer Worlds 2 for 2025 is associated with the postponement of one of the previously announced games for this year. According to him, it could be Fable or Perfect Dark (although this game was not announced for 2025).
Insider NateTheHate, whose information is often confirmed, denied Grubb’s words on Resetera:
The Outer Worlds 2 was planned for release in 2025 since last year, by the way. This game was not scheduled for release in 2025 due to the delay of another. And for now, everything that Microsoft has publicly dated for release in 2025 remains in effect.
