On December 19, the game STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl received its largest update since release. The developers presented update 1.1, which fixes almost 2000 problems, makes balance changes and various other changes.
Players report that their STALKER 2 saves have broken after installing update 1.1. This issue appears to be present in the Xbox Series X version of the game | S and for PC from the Microsoft Store (an option available through Game Pass). There are no complaints from Steam players.
On Reddit, users report that they cannot load their saves into STALKER 2. Others note that every autosave or manual save causes the game to crash. Judging by the comments of the players, the problem with loading saves occurs after the mission with SIRCAA.

I spent 50 hours, all the effort and time was gone! I can start a new game, but I refuse! I’m playing on XSX, all those weapons, all that research, all that time and effort is gone! There is no way I will play another GSC game again. I tried loading old saves, nothing worked, I reinstalled all 141.57 GB of the game and still nothing. I’ve tried everything! Damn incredible!

I loaded a very old save and it allowed me to enter the game. Once it allowed me to load, I quickly reloaded my most recent quick save from a much later level in the game and it didn’t crash, so I didn’t lose any progress. It worked on Xbox.
Please note that this method did not help all players. The developers of STALKER 2 themselves have not confirmed the presence of the problem at this time.
